HISTORY

In the early months of the year 1979, Mr. Alberto D. Lina, Mrs. Sylvia P. Lina, Mr. Glorioso R. Martinez and Mr. Jose D. Lina came up with the plan of establishing a Customs Brokerage company. Although in the air forwarding business, they made various analysis that will be able to improve their service to their clients if forwarding and brokerage go hand in hand.

With strong determination of said persons, the plan soon came into full realization. On 21 of June 1979, Airfreight 2100, Inc. was established. The Company dedicated itself to customs clearing of air and sea importation of its clients; taking care of all the client’s requirements from documentation to delivery of cargoes at the consignee’s warehouse.

It started with just seven (7) personnel and had its first and small office at the Airport Shopping Center in 2315 Tramo St., Pasay City.

The Company’s first accounts were Intel Philippines and Wilson Electronics, and EPZA-Bataan registered enterprise. The number of accounts doubled each year thereafter.

With thirty-eight (38) employees, the Company transferred to the L&J Building at Andrews Avenue in Pasay City last 1982.

In 1985, a contract was awarded to the Company to be the authorized agent of Federal Express in the Philippines. This major decision requires a different concentration that of export since it has to solicit outgoing cargoes for loading at Federal Express airplanes.

In lieu of the expansion, the Management allowed a spin-off, paving the way to the birth of another company, which they named 2100 CUSTOMS BROKERS, INC. with the vision of existing until and after the twenty first century.

The Company moved their office at Cargo City, Nayong Pilipino Complex on April 1988, then to its present office on the 16th of March 1992.
